The best Hitchcock film Hitchcock never directed.

It feel like an episode of some long-lost TV series rather than a fully fleshed-out movie.

This isn’t a great film by any means, but it is an enjoyable one.

These films are all good, but none of them really stood out to me.

It is a beautiful, sometimes difficult movie to watch, with a terrific performance from Lily Gladstone.

There is enough here to make fans of war films rejoice, but one can’t help but feel a little disappointed that such effort was put into something that could have been so much more.

I’d call this a lesser film in Woo’s long filmography, but it is still a worthy addition to any Hong Kong cinephile’s shelf.

It is worth watching, but keep your expectations low.

The core of the story is so heartbreaking, and the filmmaking so breathtaking, that I’m ready to call it a masterpiece.
