The DC Universe Original Movies: 10th Anniversary Collection is a comprehensive box set of all 30 films, five animated shorts, new special features, and exclusive collectible items including a 40-page adult coloring book featuring key art from all DC Universe films and exclusive collector coins featuring the DC “trinity” – Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. It is limited to 20,000 units and each box will be individually numbered. The films in the set are listed below along with reviews by various Sentries.
Warner Brothers has provided the Bonus Disc for review, which contains the following new content (HD unless specified) and would be worth buying if it ever became available for sale individually:
“The Hero In All of Us” (49 min) – A look at superheroes, their mythology and the appeal they generate, from a variety of speakers. “Mark Hamill: Finding The Laugh” (9 min) – Hamill chats about his roles of Luke Skywalker (briefly) and the Joker.
DC Universe Original Movies 10th Anniversary Panel, San Diego Comic-Con 2017 (45 min) – For those that didn’t get in and for those that want to relive it, producers Bruce Timm and James Tucker and co-producers/screenwriters Alan Burnett and Jim Krieg alongside actors Kevin Conroy (Batman), Tara Strong (Batgirl), John DiMaggio (numerous), Vanessa Marshall (Wonder Woman) and the quiet Christopher Gorham (Flash) chat about creating this series of films and take questions from the crowd.
A Tribute Panel to Darwyn Cooke (34 min) – Family and friends gathered at what I believe is the 2017 Toronto Comic Arts Festival to pay their respects to the man and his work. The audio and some of the camera angles aren’t great, but very interesting material.
2008 San Diego Comic-Con: DC Universe Animation Panel featuring Wonder Woman (SD, 34 min) – DC executive Gregory Noveck moderates the panel with former DC Publisher Paul Levitz, DC Universe executive producer Bruce Timm, Wonder Woman director Lauren Montgomery, dialogue/casting director Andrea Romano, and Nathan Fillion, who voiced Steve Trevor in the film that was set to come out February 2009. Interesting to hear, along with this specific project, about the beginning of the DCU and titles fans were curious about.
A Comic Book History of Justice League Dark (6 min) – Hosts of DC All Access present the history of Justice League Dark, which features supernatural characters John Constantine, Zatanna, and Deadman, and the actors who play them.
Justice League: Gods & Monsters Chronicles – Three segments, Twisted (6 min), Bomb (6 min), and Big (6 min), introduce the film’s variation of the DC trinity. Lookbook – A gallery of characters, settings, and animatic images.
