Going to have to get up early, but very excited by the prospect of learning more about what presumed to be a lost film.

Project Hail Mary – 2:15pm – 3:15pm – Hall H

Phil Lord (director and producer), Christopher Miller (director and producer), Ryan Gosling (actor and producer), Drew Goddard (screenwriter and executive producer), and Andy Weir (author and producer) give an exclusive first look at the most anticipated sci-fi thriller movie event of 2026. Based on the bestselling novel of the same name. The movie follows a science teacher who wakes up on a spaceship, lightyears from home, with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. As his memory returns, he begins to uncover his mission: to solve the riddle of the mysterious substance causing the sun to die out. He must call on his scientific knowledge and unorthodox ideas to save everything on Earth from extinction . . . but an unexpected friendship means he may not have to do it alone.

I know nothing about the film, but with all the folks involved mentioned above, this title is on my Must-See list for 2026.

The HBO Max series Peacemaker, from DC Studios and Warner Bros. Television, returns for a highly anticipated second season on August 21. Are they kidding putting this in such a small room? This series is outstanding and surely has a lot of fans.

Am a fan of the show and stop-motion animation, so am curious to get behind-the-scenes information about its creation.

MeTV’s Svengoolie and the Sven Squad Make Their Comic-Con Debut! – 7:30pm – 8:30pm – 7AB

Legendary horror host Svengoolie (Rich Koz) and members of his Sven Squad—Sarah Palmer (Gwengoolie), Scott Gryder (IMP), and Bill Leff (Nostalgiaferatoo)—along with executive producer Jim Roche will thrill fans with a lively discussion about the past, present, and future of horror hosting. Dan DiDio, former publisher for DC Comics and Frank Miller Presents and editor for the Svengoolie comics, will moderate. As the last nationally broadcast horror host on the air, Svengoolie represents a unique legacy in television history, blending classic monster movies with comedy and fan engagement to keep this beloved tradition alive since the 1970s—and on MeTV since 2011. Panel attendees will receive a Comic-Con exclusive Svengoolie and the Sven Squad collectible trading card set and a limited-edition Svengoolie button!

Seems like another panel where the schedulers have misjudged or don’t care about the audience this group will draw because these MeTV stars seems very popular, at least in my social media circles. Plus free collectibles!

The Comic-Con International 2025 Masquerade – 8:30pm – 11:00pm – Ballroom 20

In 1974, Comic-Con added a costume contest to its events, and it’s been a part of the convention ever since! Not a dance or party, it’s a cosplay stage event with trophies, prizes, and more. Doors open for audience seating 30 minutes early at 8:00. The ballroom holds 4,000, but if you are worried about getting a seat, free tickets are given out at noon on Saturday near Ballroom 20 and also at the Masquerade Desk after 3:00. A ticket guarantees a seat but is not required, and those without tickets are welcome after the ticketed line has gone in. Overflow viewing on large screens is available in the Sails Pavilion and Room 6A. Our emcees will once again be five-time Hugo award-winning writer and artist Phil Foglio and his son Victor Foglio, with impressive intermission entertainment from The Saber Guild Star Wars performance group and The Corps Dance Crew.

Looking forward to closing out the day watching some very creative people showing off their costuming skills.
