Neon’s Slate of Award-winning Films to Join the Criterion Collection

NEON is excited to announce the addition of five of their award-winning films to The Criterion Collection. The titles include, Alice Diop’s Saint Omer, Academy Award winner Laura Poitras’ All the Beauty and the Bloodshed, Ruben Östlund’s Triangle of Sadness, Brett Morgen’s Moonage Daydream and Celine Sciamma’s Petite Maman

Saint Omer is the French selection at this year’s Academy Awards, and has received numerous accolades across guilds and critics groups, in addition to winning the Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize when it premiered at Venice. Alice Diop recently received a DGA nomination for Outstanding Directorial Achievement for a First-Time Theatrical Feature Film Director for Saint Omer. The film has been recognized as one of the top international features by major film critics organizations around the country. Additionally, the film has garnered nominations for Best International Feature by the Gotham Awards, Best International Film by Film Independent Spirit Awards and named one of the top five International Films by the National Board of Review.  SUPER will release the film theatrically on January 13th. 

All the Beauty and the Bloodshed, from Academy Award winner, Laura Poitras, has been named Best Documentary by New York Film Critics Circle, Los Angeles Film Critics Association and the National Society of Film Critics.  The film won the Freedom of Expression award from the National Board of Review in addition to Laura Poitras receiving a DGA nomination and a Directorial Win at the Cinema Eye Honors.  All the Beauty and the Bloodshed has been named one of the best films of the year by over 65 top critics across the country. 

Ruben Östlund’s Palm d’Or winner, Triangle of Sadness garnered Golden Globe nominations for Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical and Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Dolly De Leon. The film has been longlisted by BAFTA for Best Film and in multiple acting categories, including Supporting Actress for Dolly De Leon. De Leon has also been named best Supporting Actor by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association. The film won every major award at the European Film Awards including European Film, European Director, European Actor and European Screenwriter. 

Brett Morgan’s Moonage Daydream has been named one of the Best Documentaries of the year by major critic groups across the country. The film has been recognized both above and below the line with wins in Outstanding Sound Design and Outstanding Visual Design by the Cinema Eye Honors, and Brett Morgen winning a Critics Choice Documentary Award for Best Editing. The award winning sound team has been nominated by both the Motion Picture Sound Editors Guild and the Cinema Audio Society. 

Celine Sciamma’s Petite Maman, garnered critical success when it opened in the US.  It was recognized by critic groups around the country, and was nominated by the Film Independent Spirit Awards for Best International Film in 2022.  The film is an intimately emotional exploration of the relationship between mother and daughter and a masterful follow up to Portrait of a Lady on Fire
