Press release: This Sunday night at 11 p.m. ET, getTV presents a rarely seen Jerry Seinfeld stand-up appearance from 1986 on THE MERV GRIFFIN SHOW. Seinfeld appeared on Merv Griffin’s talk show more than a dozen times in the early 1980s prior to his breakthrough in the sitcom SEINFELD, where he referenced his Griffin appearances in a legendary episode in which Kramer (Michael Richards) recreates the set from THE MERV GRIFFIN SHOW in his apartment.

In addition to the Seinfeld guest spot, the night includes a lineup of some of the top male comedy performers of all-time, with two Friars Club roasts featuring such legends as Johnny Carson, Don Rickles, and Groucho Marx, two episodes of THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS COMEDY HOUR, a Woody Allen variety special, and an additional episode of THE MERV GRIFFIN SHOW featuring Jerry Lewis and Richard Pryor.
