If the Fast and the Furious franchise didn't bring enough big car chases to the screen for you, Drive promises to bring you a few more this September.  Ryan Gosling plays a stunt man who moonlights as a wheel-man for criminals.  After what should be his last heist, he finds himself instead being trailed by heavies who won't quit until they get what they want.  It's got a great cast (with Christina Hendricks as the love interest, Ron Perlman and Albert Brooks as the bad guys) and a Cannes pedigree so hopefully it will prove to be more than just another boring car-chase movie.  The trailer has some interesting noir elements going for it and a very nice visual look which is way more than I can say for any of the Fast and Furious flicks. Gerard Butler stars in this based-on-a-true-story flick about a former drug dealer who found God and a mission in Africa to help hundreds of kidnapped orphans. He plays Sam Childers, who after cleaning up his life decides to go to the Sudan to help repair homes destroyed in a brutal civil war.  Once there he is outraged over the treatment of children and decides to build an orphanage in the midst of the LRA, a militant militia known for their incrutement of children into their army.

Directed by Marc Forster (Finding Neverland, Monster's Ball) and costarring Michelle Monaghan, Kathy Baker and Madeline Carroll, Machine Gun Preacher premieres in New York and L.A. on September 23, and then opens across the nation on September 20.  Visit the official website and the real Sam Childers site for more information.
