Press release: Celebrate Mother’s Day with getTV in a star-studded afternoon brunch block honoring some of Hollywood’s most influential actresses on Sunday, May 10, starting at 9:30 a.m. ET. The special event highlights career-defining performances from Golden Age icons Barbara Hale, Claudette Colbert, Carole Lombard, Marlene Dietrich and Marilyn Monroe in five unforgettable films that highlight motherhood.

The day begins at 9:30 a.m. ET with the classic 1949 comedy AND BABY MAKES THREE, starring Barbara Hale as a woman who discovers she’s pregnant with her ex-husband’s child while walking down the aisle to marry her new beau; next, Oscar-winner Claudette Colbert inherits a bratty stepchild when her quirky office romance with Melvyn Douglas blossoms into marriage in SHE MARRIED HER BOSS at 11:30 a.m. ET; and racy fan-dancer Alabama Lee (Carole Lombard) tries to rehabilitate her image by hiring an elderly woman to be her mother in the 1934 comedy LADY BY CHOICE, with May Robson, at 1:30 p.m. ET.

Then, the original blonde bombshells take over as desperate actress Elizabeth Madden (Marlene Dietrich) enters a marriage of convenience so she can adopt an infant in THE LADY IS WILLING, with Fred MacMurray at 3:20 p.m. ET. And, 5:30 p.m. ET, the incomparable Marilyn Monroe shines in one of her earliest roles as Peggy Martin, a young burlesque dancer whose stage mother—played by Adele Jergens—leads her into a blossoming career resulting in an unlikely romance with a wealthy socialite in the 1948 musical LADIES OF THE CHORUS.
