Cinema Sentries, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, and MGM have teamed up to give one lucky the reader the opportunity to win a Chuck Norris Blu-ray Prize Pack, featuring Delta Force, Missing in Action, and Missing in Action II, which are currently available on Blu-ray exclusively at Walmart.
Although it came out months before Rambo: First Blood Part II, Missing in Action (1984) was "inspired" by James Cameron's story treatment for the former. The Golan Globus production for Cannon Films stars Chuck Norris as Colonel James Braddock a former POW during the Vietnam War who returns years later to look for missing soldiers in defiance of the U.S military. The Canadian Cinephile reviewed this one.
Missing in Action 2: The Beginning (1985) tells the story of Braddock's time as a POW and how he escaped the camp. The two films were shot at the same time but the producers decided to switch the release order of the films, resulting in this sequel being a prequel. The Canadian Cinephile reviewed this one too.
Delta Force (1986) is also a Golan Globus production. This time teaming Chuck Norris with Lee Marvin, in his final film, as members of an elite military squad called into when terrorists hijack a plane bound for New York to Beirut, Lebanon. The movie has a cast of familar faces like Shelley Winters, George Kennedy, and Bo Svenson. The plot is based loosely on the hijack of TWA Flight 847 in 1985. With a tagline like "They don't negotiate with terrorists... they blow them away!" you know what to expect.
